March Newsletter: Keep the Balls ON the Court (and OFF of Pets!)

March in Indiana means two things: basketball and kitten season! While we’re in full support of balls on the court, we’d like to keep them off of our pets. 😉

You can help! Spay/Neuter is the only way to address pet overpopulation at the source. Your donations stay 100% in Indiana and make a difference for shelter pets, owned pets, community cats, and the people who love them. A single surgery can save multiple lives down the road. Please help us help them!

Dropping in on the Pit Mix Fix!

Meet Brink! She’s the first of many dogs to be spayed with the Pit Mix Fix program!

After our announcement last month, we’re happy to report that program is well underway! The Pit Mix Fix is currently available in Marion, Jackson, and Lawrence counties, where income-qualified Hoosiers are able to fix their large dogs for only $10.

Individuals or companies interested in sponsoring – or expanding the Pit Mix Fix program into new areas – should contact Rhi Johns at Rhi@PetFriendlyServices.org. Your assistance can help us make more goofy, big, lovable dogs like Brink be even happier and healthier!

We need your help to fix more dogs! Any donations to the Pit Mix Fix will help a large dog in need!

Support for Cats in Southern Indiana

Alley Cat Advocates, Piece of my Heart Rescue and Pet Friendly Services are teaming up to tackle kitten season in by fixing 400 cats! Pet Friendly Services has provided spay/neuter vouchers for community cats, so they can they can be fixed at no cost to their caretakers.

Many outdoor cats survive because a loving person refuses to allow them to suffer. They provide for cats from the goodness of their heart, but might not have the means to pay for a spay/neuter surgery. Allowing them to fix these outdoor cats for free makes cats healthier, and stops them from reproducing!

The FIX is IN! is already making a BIG impact in 2023.

The FIX is IN! is already having a huge impact in 2023. With additional capacity and funding this year, we are routinely seeing over 300 cats fixed in a single weekend. In fact, over 1,600 cats have already been fixed! Pet Friendly Services provides financial assistance at these clinics to cat owners in need, making low-cost spay/neuter accessible to those who need it most.

Public Vet is currently scheduling clinics across Indiana! Pet owners should book appointments right away, as spots are limited. Surgeries are by appointment only. Sign up at www.pub.vet.

Don't Drive Without One!

For many shelters, spay/neuter surgeries are not built into their budgets. This means that they depend on individual donations and the support of Pet Friendly Services of Indiana. When you purchase a Pet Friendly license plate, you are supporting the work of 300 shelters and rescues across the state and giving an animal the best chance at a new beginning.

Already have a Pet Friendly plate, but you’d like to do more to help Indiana’s animals? Become a sustaining donor. Just $5 per month pays for a full surgery over the course of a year. We’re all in this together, and your financial gift really does help us help them.
