Love Them For Life at Tom Wood Subaru

Pet Friendly Services will host a media-friendly, outdoor, adoption event on Saturday, October 7 Tom Wood Subaru. Ten local rescue groups will be joining us with cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes. Families and their pets are encouraged to stop by and visit with potential new family members. Each rescue will receive free spay/neuter vouchers from Pet Friendly Services, ensuring that their pets are adoption-ready.

  1. Is my rescue participating?
    You can find a list of approved, attending rescues here.
  2. Where is the event?
    The event will take place in the back lot of Tom Wood Subaru, 3300 E 96th St, Indianapolis, IN 46240
  3. When is the event and what are the event hours?
    The event is open to the public from 11AM – 2PM on Saturday, October 7.
  4. What time can I set up my space?
    Groups can begin setup at 9:45AM. Please arrive in time to be fully set up by 10:45. Follow the signs to the back of the building.
  5. How much space will my rescue have to set up?
    Each rescue will have a 18x18ft space, separated by adjacent groups by 9ft.
  6. Is there a rain date for this event?
    No, should we have to cancel or cut the event short due to inclement weather,  the event will not be rescheduled.
  7. What do I need to bring?
    Since each rescue has specific and varying needs, we do NOT provide any set up equipment. Things to bring, if desired: Things to bring:  table, tent (recommended, but not required), chairs, adoption applications, water bowls.
  8. Will water be available for the animals?
    Yes.
  9. Which types of adoptable animals can I bring?
    All kinds! We’ve had cats, dogs, rabbits, snakes, and even a chicken before!
  10. How many animals can I bring?
    Please bring as many as you feel comfortable controlling and monitoring safely in an adoption event environment. There is no limit on the number of pets you can bring, provided that they can be safely controlled within your set-up area.
  11. What about big dogs?
    If you are bringing large dogs, please have at least one volunteer/handler per dog. Additionally, there will be cats / small dogs/ rabbits on site, so please do not bring any dogs with a high chase/prey drive to ensure everyone’s safety.
  12. Do I need to do same-day adoptions?
    No. Many rescues take applications at the event and follow-up with interested adopters at a later date.
  13. Do my adoptable cats/dogs need to be spayed/neutered before the event?
    No, but by Indiana law, they MUST be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. You may, however, take applications for adoptions at a later date.
  14. How do I get reimbursed for the adoption fee discount?
    We are offering adopters a $25 discount from your regular adoption fees, but will reimburse you so that your fees collected will still be the same. You do NOT have to allow same-day adoptions. Please let us know by October 25 how many animals you had adopted and we will send you a reimbursement check upon receipt of your adoption numbers.
  15. How do I receive my free spay/neuter vouchers?
    Rescues and shelters currently in our program will earn TWO  spay/neuter vouchers. These vouchers will be loaded into your account and can be requested on our website once they have been assigned to you, here:  https://petfriendlyservices.org/spay-neuter-services/rescue-group-shelter-certificate/

  16. Is lunch available?
    Yes! There will be a FREE cookout for attendees and participants in the event. Vegetarian options will be available.
