Impact Report: June 2022

Introducing: The Pet Friendly Impact Report!

Thank YOU for being part of Pet Friendly Services’ lifesaving team! Thanks to people like you who donate or drive with the Pet Friendly license plate, we’re able to impact the lives of cats and dogs all across the state of Indiana. Each month, we’ll e-mail you the “Pet Friendly Services Impact Report” so you can witness how your contributions are leading the way to zero-kill status for Indiana. We’ll share one story, and also show you the rescues and shelters who have received lifesaving spay/neuter certificates this month.

Impact Story: Sonja’s Cats and Miami County TNR

Sonja has a big heart and could never let an animal in need suffer. At 75, she found herself the victim of human irresponsibility – her yard became a “dumping” ground for unfixed cats. She couldn’t bring herself to watch them suffer and go hungry, but cats being cats, the situation quickly got out of control.

Luckily for her (and the nearly 70 cats!) Melanie from Eagle’s Pointe TNR in Miami County stepped in to help. With financial support from Pet Friendly Services, Melanie has fixed almost all of the cats on Sonja’s property! And the progress shows: “Last year, every single week, I would get a phone call about a new kitten litter she found,” wrote Melanie. “This year so far, she’s only found one litter. That’s a humongous difference!”

Melanie also added, “I wanted to personally let you know the impact of the spay/neuter vouchers. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish nearly as much without them. I’m so glad Pet Friendly Services exists!”

Catching up with The FIX is IN!

In 2020, Pet Friendly Services launched The FIX is IN! to expand access to care and spay/neuter. Through our partnership with Public Vet, we’re reaching under-served areas in dire need. These clinics can fix up to 200 cats per day – which lessens the backlog on vet offices in the area.

Pet Friendly Services provides financial assistance to families and caregivers who could not otherwise afford to fix their cats, helping to stop overpopulation at the source.

Here’s the impact we’ve made so far this year:
