The Pet Friendly Impact Report: July 2022
Our new Impact Report lets you know where the Pet Friendly Plate is helping across the state! Each month, we are including the list of shelters and rescues benefiting from our services, so you can witness how your contributions are leading the way to zero-kill status for Indiana.
Thank YOU for being part of Pet Friendly Services’ lifesaving team! Thanks to people like you who donate or drive with the Pet Friendly license plate, we’re able to impact the lives of cats and dogs we all love.

Homer’s Helpers Outreach Program
One of our valued rescue partners, Homer’s Helpers, recently held an outreach event to assist pet owners in Alexandria. Free vaccinations as well as a pet food pantry were available. As a “SNAP Assist” program partner, the group also helps limited-income pet owners sign up for our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP)!
In fact, Pet Friendly Services has 17 SNAP Assist partners scattered across the state. These groups ensure SNAP vouchers to reach the pet owners that need them most.
With our SNAP vouchers, qualified owners pay just $25 for a lifesaving surgery that addresses pet overpopulation at the source! Thank you to Homer’s Helpers and ALL of our SNAP Assist partners!
Two kittens adopted from Pet Friendly Services’ “Tails & Ales” adoption event at Broad Ripple Brewpub last month – now happily settled in their forever home!
You can see more adoptable pets and learn more about Homer’s Helpers on their Facebook Page.
Where We’re Saving Lives This Month
The Pet Friendly Plate Grant allows shelters and rescues to fix their animals for FREE! This makes them healthy, happy, and adoption-ready.
The Community Cat Program Grant provides rescue groups and shelters with 25 FREE surgery certificates each year, to be used for Trap-Neuter-Return programs for outdoor cats. These certificates include a rabies vaccination and mandatory eartip.

Catching up with The FIX is IN!
In 2020, Pet Friendly Services launched The FIX is IN! to expand access to care and spay/neuter. Through our partnership with Public Vet, this mobile clinic is reaching under-served areas in dire need. These clinics can fix up to 200 cats per day – which lessens the backlog on vet offices in the area.
Pet Friendly Services provides financial assistance to families and colony caretakers who could not otherwise afford to fix their cats, helping to stop overpopulation at the source. Here’s the impact we’ve made so far this year:
To see where The Fix is IN! will be next and to make an appointment, visit Public Vet’s website.
Pet Friendly Services is the only statewide non-profit that addresses pet over population at the source and receives no government funding.=
