Impact Report: 2nd Quarter 2024

We’re halfway through 2024, and on pace for another record-setting year. With your support, we’re addressing pet overpopulation at the source, and keeping it as affordable as possible. Despite rising costs, our Spay-Neuter Assistance Program remains at just $25 for eligible families. Our targeted programs are focused on at-risk animals like large dogs, shelter dogs, and cats in all areas of the state.

We’re focused on fixing pets AND finding forever homes for pets currently in the shelter/rescue system. Our newly launched Adoption Event Calendar helps get new eyes on adoptable pets!

Read on to see how and where we’ve made a difference so far this year!

Love saving lives? We rely on YOU to keep our programs running. Your support makes our IMPACT possible!

New: Indiana Adoption Event Calendar

The second quarter of 2024 saw the launch of our new Adoption Event Calendar. This statewide calendar includes adoption events and special adoption pricing, with the goal of connecting more people with adoptable pets.

Small, volunteer-led rescues often do not have a brick and mortar location. Instead, they rely on fosters and special adoption events in locations like pet stores, breweries, or businesses. By creating a calendar to highlight all of these events in one place, we can get the eyes of more animal lovers on adoptable pets, and help more animals find forever homes!

Where We Saved Lives This Quarter

The Pet Friendly Plate Grant allows shelters and rescues to fix their animals for FREE! This makes them healthy, happy, and adoption-ready.

The Community Cat Grant provides rescue groups and shelters with FREE surgery certificates for Trap-Neuter-Return programs for outdoor cats. These certificates include a rabies vaccination and mandatory eartip.

The following organizations received their annual Pet Friendly Plate Grant and Community Cat Grant spay/neuter certificates in the second quarter of 2024:

The #1 way to reduce the burden on shelters is by reducing the intake of cats!

Catching up with The FIX is IN!

“The Fix is IN!” has been all business in 2024, and that business is fixing cats! Thanks to special grant funding from the Joanie Bernard Foundation and the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, we’ve expanded our financial support to targeted areas of the state. This will allow for more clinics, more access to spay/neuter, and more fixed cats!

This much-needed program reaches under-served areas, and clinics can fix up to 100 cats per day. That’s 100 cats that will go home with their families to live happy lives rather than having unwanted litters litters arriving at your local shelter.

Pet Friendly Services provides financial assistance to families and colony caretakers who could not otherwise afford to fix their cats, helping to stop overpopulation at the source. Here’s the impact we’ve made so far this year and a brief video about the Fix is IN!

To see where The Fix is IN! will be next and to make an appointment, visit Public Vet’s website. More clinics will be listed soon!

Now Saving Lives AND Money!

The second quarter of 2024 also saw the launch of our new partnership with Jiffy Lube of Indiana! All locations (except Crawfordsville) are now offering special discounts to any vehicle that drives with a Pet Friendly Plate!

Benefits add up to $40 and include a complimentary tire rotation, a $10 discount on oil changes, and a generous 10% off other services**. No coupon is necessary – just let your technician know you drive with the Pet Friendly Plate!

*up to $40 in savings when all discounts applied
**10% discount does not include brakes or tires
