Pet Friendly Services of Indiana, in partnership with the United Spay Alliance, is offering immersive, hands-on spay/neuter wet labs designed for veterinarians who want to sharpen their surgical skills and expand access to care in their communities.

These full-day trainings focus on spay/neuter techniques that help you:

  • Increase surgical efficiency without compromising patient care
  • Build confidence through guided, hands-on experience
  • Learn techniques you can apply right away—whether in private practice, shelter medicine, or high-volume settings
  • Make a meaningful impact by helping more animals, more effectively

Our first wet lab of 2026 will take place March 22 in Bristol, Indiana. You’ll earn 8 CEs and the price is only $150, lunch included.

Who should attend?

  • Any actively licensed Indiana veterinarian
  • Full-day (8am-4:30pm) participation is required
  • Ideal for veterinarians seeking to deepen spay expertise and efficiency
  • Designed to support long-term increases in surgical capacity

You found WHAT in an Ear?!?

During a routine pre-surgical exam, our medical team discovered something truly extraordinary; an entire tooth growing inside a cat’s ear, complete with gum tissue, part of a lip, and even a tiny patch of fur-covered “chin.” This rare and bizarre growth is known as a teratoma, a type of tumor made up of misplaced tissues that form before birth. This cat had suffered from ear infections secondary to the growth but was able to have it removed the day of our clinic.- Dr. Aria Armendariz Peavy, DVM

What oddities have you found in your spay/neuter practice? We’d love to share them! E-mail Rhiannon at Rhi@PetFriendlyServices.org to have your story shared!

Spread the Word about Fix by Five!

Shelters across the country are full, yet most people don’t know the best time to spay/neuter their cat – or that kittens can have more kittens! The Feline Fix by Five campaign, a program of the United Spay Alliance, is working to educate cat owners so we can prevent unwanted litters.

You can help by spreading the word! Graphics and copy are available to share online or in print on our website.
