As Indiana’s only statewide animal welfare organization, Pet Friendly Services continues to make powerful strides toward ending pet overpopulation—and the third quarter of 2025 has been another period of meaningful progress.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters like you, we’ve now fixed more than 10,000 cats and dogs this year at an average cost of just $74 per pet—an extraordinary return on investment compared to the hundreds of dollars it can cost to shelter, feed, and rehome just one animal.
Every spay or neuter makes a difference: fewer unwanted litters, less strain on shelters, and healthier, more stable communities for both animals and people. With your support, we’re not just saving lives—we’re preventing suffering before it begins.

Making Adoption Connections
Over the past three months, Pet Friendly Services has brought communities together through a series of events — three “Tails & Ales” gatherings at Broad Ripple Brewpub, our annual “Love Them for Life” adoption event at Tom Wood Subaru, and the return of the “Indy Hair Ball.” Each event highlighted animal rescues and featured adoptable cats and dogs eager to find their forever homes.
Many of our rescue partners don’t operate brick-and-mortar shelters. They rely on a network of foster families who open their homes and hearts to animals in need. By providing these groups with public platforms to showcase their adoptable pets, Pet Friendly Services plays “matchmaker” — helping connect deserving animals with the people who will love them.
Where We Saved Lives in Q3
The Pet Friendly Plate Grant allows shelters and rescues to fix their animals at a reduced cost to make them ready for adoption.
The Community Cat Grant provides rescue groups and shelters with FREE surgery certificates for Trap-Neuter-Return programs for outdoor cats. These certificates include a rabies vaccination and mandatory eartip.
The following organizations received their annual Pet Friendly Plate Grant and Community Cat Grant spay/neuter certificates in the third quarter of 2025:

Catching up with The FIX is IN!
“The Fix is IN!” is continuing strong in 2025, with an incredible 10,306 cats already spayed or neutered this year! That’s 10K+ cats who will not be adding to the growing number of unwanted litters in overcrowded shelters.
Thanks to special grant funding from the Joanie Bernard Foundation and the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust, a KeyBank Trust, we’ve been able to expand support to additional regions across Indiana. This means more clinics, more access to affordable spay/neuter services, and more cats fixed statewide.
Pet Friendly Services continues to provide financial assistance to families and community cat caretakers who might otherwise struggle to afford these surgeries — stopping pet overpopulation at its source and creating healthier, more stable communities for people and pets alike.
To see where The Fix is IN! will be next and to make an appointment, visit Public Vet’s website. More clinics will be listed soon!
