Dear Pet Friendly Supporter:
May is a big deal in Indiana. It’s the month of racing, celebration, and Indiana pride. But it’s also National Pet Month, which makes it the perfect time to recognize the animals who make our lives better every single day, and the people like you who are helping protect them.
As excitement builds across the state, so does one of the busiest seasons in animal welfare. Kitten season is underway, shelters and rescues are feeling the strain, and demand for affordable spay/neuter continues to rise. Every surgery funded right now helps prevent future suffering, overcrowding, and homelessness before it starts.
In this month’s update, you’ll see how your support is helping keep lifesaving programs moving forward across Indiana.
New Statewide Tool to Save Lives!
One of the biggest challenges we face is that many pet owners want to fix their pets but don’t know where to start. That’s why we’ve launched our new statewide Spay/Neuter Resource Directory – built to connect people with affordable, accessible spay/neuter (all searchable by county!).
The directory includes low-cost clinics, financial assistance, and transport programs. We’ve already seen a tremendous number of visitors to the directory. The need is real, and the desire to fix cats and dogs is there! Please share this directory, and let us know if you have additional resources to add.
Fixed Pet Feature: Gypsy Rose

Gypsy Rose was a stray living on a farm where the cats constantly fought, and many were injured or killed. I was lucky to rescue her when I did! Thanks to Pet Friendly Services, I was able to get her spayed.
Now that she’s been spayed, she’s like a completely different cat! She’s so much more cuddly and playful, and it feels like she can finally relax and express herself now that she’s not constantly in heat. She also gets along much better with my mom’s cat, and they play together every day

When you support Pet Friendly Services, you’re helping cats like Gypsy Rose stay safe, healthy, and in loving homes. We rely on your kindness to keep our work going!
New Animal Welfare Laws in Indiana: Effective July 1
Indiana just got tougher on animal cruelty.
Starting July 1, HEA 1165 brings stronger penalties for abuse and neglect, allows felony charges in serious cases, addresses hoarding and domestic violence, defines proper care more clearly, and protects good Samaritans who step in to help.
