May News: Our FINAL Nut Sale, Not-A-Mother’s Day for Pets, Avian Flu Update, and Adoption Events!

Sad News..

Our Nut Sale is Closing 🙁

Pet Friendly Services has received sad news about our Annual Nut Sale. After years of partnership, Terri Lynn is closing. The Annual Nut Sale has been part of our work for DECADES, funding countless spay/neuter surgeries, satisfying sweet tooths, and providing endless opportunities for puns about nuts & neutering!

The Nut Sale was the brainchild of our (hilarious) founders who, looking for more ways to help pet owners, couldn’t pass up the opportunity for this word-perfect fundraiser. The idea was so nutty that it even made an appearance in the “Headlines” segment of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno!

On a more serious note, orders from our Nut Sale have helped us prevent countless unwanted litters and keep animals out of shelters. It represents a large amount of our annual fundraising dollars and replacing it will be a challenge.

We’re asking you to help us go out on a high note! Every purchase supports our mission to help people help animals through accessible spay/neuter programs. Over the years, your orders have fueled lifesaving work and touched thousands of furry lives.

The final day to order is May 23. Let’s honor this nutty tradition and the animals it helps by making this final fundraiser the best one yet!

Fixed 'Em Feature

Did you know that the VAST majority of cats and dogs fixed by our programs were neither adopted or purchased? Most are found, acquired, or taken in by caring individuals who can’t bear to witness suffering. These pets found their owners, rather than the other way around.

Not everyone who takes in a stray can easily afford a spay/neuter surgery – let alone more than one! When you give to Pet Friendly Services, you’re helping the boots-on-the-ground animal lovers doing their best to help animals in need.

Mother's Day - Great for Humans, Not for Pets!

We love to celebrate moms of all kinds—human moms, pet moms, foster moms, and anyone with a heart full of love and compassion. You nurture, protect, and make the world a better place.

But while we’re celebrating motherhood, there’s one kind of mom we don’t want to see: cats and dogs. Every year, countless litters of puppies and kittens are born without homes to go to, adding to the burden on shelters and rescues. That’s why Pet Friendly Services works tirelessly to spay/neuter – because the best gift we can give our pets is a life free from the cycle of unwanted litters.

Fixing your pet prevents suffering, saves lives, and gives every animal a better chance!

Not sure when to fix your pet? It’s probably earlier than you think! Fix by Five Months for cats and kittens, and 4-6 months for dogs. Click here for more information.

Avian Influenza Updates

Avian influenza primarily affects poultry and wild birds, but has also spread to dairy cows. The virus can have deadly consequences to cats, and dog owners should also take precautions.

Food Safety:  Avian influenza does not present a food safety risk; cooked poultry, beef, eggs and pasteurized dairy products are safe to eat. However, cats are particularly susceptible to the H5N1 virus. Cat owners should take extra precautions (ensure all food is thoroughly cooked and avoid “raw” diets or raw milk).
