Show Cats and Dogs Some Love this February!
Valentine’s Day is all about love – and is a GREAT time to support spay/neuter programs.
After all, pets like to celebrate, too. Maybe not with chocolates (not safe for them) or romantic candlelit dinners (potential fire hazard), but they can and WILL celebrate in more, well… “physical” ways if given the chance.
While we’re on the topic of celebrations, if cats and dogs are celebrating on Valentine’s day, you can bet they’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day as well!
This February, consider showing your love of cats and dogs by donating spay/neuter surgery to a pet in need! Nothing says “I love you” like preventing a surprise litter kittens or puppies!
Our average surgery cost in 2024 was just $68! A donation of this amount fixes one pet, but prevents suffering for GENERATIONS into the future!
It's Feline Fix by Five Month!
February is Feline Fix by Five Month – a time to raise awareness that cats can reproduce at just FIVE months of age. Fix by Five to avoid unwanted litters!
What does this mean for you, a person who loves cats?
- If you have a kitten, NOW is the time to book your spay/neuter appointment. Schedules can fill quickly, and it may take time to get your appointment.
- Many low-cost clinics fix kittens as young as 2 months or a minimum weight of 2 pounds.
- You can help other cats by spreading the word! The United Spay Alliance has great resources for Veterinarians, Cat Fans, and even “Cat-Fluencers” alike that you can use to increase awareness about this important cause!
Remember, spaying and neutering your cat not only prevents unwanted litters, it also offers health benefits and stops undesirable behaviors like spraying and roaming!

You know Pet Friendly Services as the Indiana’s “spay/neuter” organization, but did you know we also invest in education by hosting Indiana’s only animal welfare conference?
Animal welfare has experienced many twists and turns, but Indiana remains committed to Finding the Path Forward. The Indiana Animal Welfare Conference provides training and networking, so we can work together to best help animals all across our state!
New format for 2025: We’ve expanded the conference to include 18 concurrent sessions structured to address the unique challenges and opportunities of animal welfare.
Pet Friendly Services provides a continental breakfast, Italian buffet lunch, and afternoon snack – yet the ticket cost is only $35. We keep the cost low because we want even the smallest shelters and rescues to attend. This year, we are offering scholarships to further reduce the cost for shelters in need.
