This year’s Indiana Animal Welfare Conference is certain to be the best conference yet! Attendees requested sessions on marketing and fundraising, so we are bringing leaders in those fields to share their knowledge. We’ll also discuss all things cats and dogs (and rabbits.) Check out the full agenda to learn more.

Tickets are just $25 and include continental breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Get yourself registered – bring your entire team! All are welcome to attend. By working together, we can and will bring Indiana to zero kill and prevent suffering and abuse.

Need overnight accommodations? SNSI has reserved a block of rooms through March 6th at the Hampton Inn Indianapolis – South. Room rates are $119 and include either 2 double beds or a king bed with a sleeper sofa.

Have a Heart Campaign

ImageDo you need help getting a pet fixed, but you don’t qualify for our Spay-Neuter Assistance Program? SNSI’s Have a Heart program runs throughout the month of February. With 36 vets participate in this program, you’re likely to find one close to you. Surgery prices ranging from $55 – $110, and discounted vaccines are available with the surgery.

Help Us Help Them

How You Can Help

ImageFor many shelters, spay/neuter surgeries are not built into their budgets. This means that they depend on individual donations and the support of Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana. When you purchase a Pet Friendly license plate, you are supporting the work of 300 shelters and rescues across the state and giving an animal the best chance at a new beginning.

Already have a Pet Friendly plate, but you’d like to do more to help Indiana’s animals? Become a sustaining donor. Just $5 per month pays for a full surgery over the course of a year. We’re all in this together, and your financial gift to SNSI really does help us help them.

Memorials

ImageIn memory of Henry, adopted from the 2014 Indy Mega Adoption Event. Scott and Sharon Beauchamp found this big, handsome boy, who was indeed the perfect cat. Henry gave them his full heart, and they returned the love. We don’t understand why anyone gives up a cherished pet, but Henry found his perfect home in his later years. – From your friends at SNSI.

ImageIn memory of Jim Coryell, a devoted family man who enjoyed life to the ripe old age of 99. He leaves behind a wonderful family, including his daughter Jeanne Farrell, and granddaughter Erin Farrell. Jim will be missed by so many who had the pleasure of his company. – From the Hair Ball Committee.

Animal welfare fact of the week

Did you know that spay/neuter programs are less expensive than sheltering animals? A national survey found that shelters spend an average of $450 for each animal that is ultimately placed in a new home. Compare that to spay/neuter programs like SNSI’s, which average at $60 per pet.
