RUSHVILLE, Ind. — Public Vet will host a mobile spay/neuter clinic for kittens and adult cats in Rushville on Monday, August 17.
Surgery costs $100 or less per cat, with generous financial assistance available through Pet Friendly Services of Indiana and the Joanie Bernard Foundation. Assistance can be requested during Public Vet’s online registration process.
Appointments are required, and clinics often fill well before the event date.
The clinic supports the Feline Fix by Five initiative, which encourages cat owners to have kittens spayed or neutered by five months of age. Many owners do not realize that kittens can become pregnant while they are still kittens themselves. Fixing kittens before reproductive age prevents accidental litters and helps reduce pressure on overwhelmed shelters and rescue groups.
“By making spay/neuter affordable and accessible, we can help families care for their pets while preventing future litters,” said Cheri Storms, executive director of Pet Friendly Services of Indiana. “We encourage kitten owners to schedule surgery before five months of age.”
Public Vet provides affordable feline spay/neuter care through a same-day drop-off and pick-up model. Surgeries are performed by experienced, licensed veterinarians, focused on spay/neuter.
